Pineapple Black Virtual Arts
PBVArts
Developed in response to Covid-19 and the difficulties faced by artists and gallery goers, PBVArts is virtual extension of Pineapple Black Contemporary Art Space.
This virtual rendition of Pineapple Black’s existing exhibition space will feature a programme of monthly exhibitions running throughout 2021.
PBVArts is produced by Pineapple Black Arts, developed by Dovetail Joints and supported by Tees Valley Combined Authority.
Pineapple Black was founded in 2019 by artists Stephen Irving and Bobby Benjamin.
‘planes’ by Mitchel Proctor
‘planes’ represents an in-depth look into the cohabitation of humans and their environment.
The series of images is collected over a 4 year period in America – journeying from the south to the north east.
Vision 25-C
Vision 25-C is a queer artist, performer and musician making work that is harsh, confrontational and experimental. Their live improvised performances are often disruptive and transgressive producing a sound that has been described as ‘filthy, rhythmic, industrial noise.’
Their new remix album ‘PROVOKE DYSTOPIA’ has just been released on Spotify and Bandcamp, check out their Instagram (@vision25c) for more info.
The Screen – NSFC Student Voices
The Screen will be a place for the wider community and marginalised voices to tell their stories through film and video.
Our first screening comprises images that capture and celebrate the essence of the LGBTQ+ movement. Images were submitted to an open call by students from Newcastle Sixth Form College.
