We all ready had light, it was more clean floors, plastered walls and a lick of paint that was required…
We moved into our current premises around the beginning of November 2018. What was once a New Look store was now just a vast open space, a big and scary vast open space! We knew it would take a bit of work to get it ready to open as an exhibition space, but at the same time many of the changes required some filler and paint rather then anything major.
After stripping the walls, filling the gaps and getting a bargain on 5 tins of orange paint from B&Q we were able to transform it into a bright, modern and very spacious exhibition space with three distinct exhibition spaces.
The 24/7 Window : This custom built space takes advantage of the large glass window in the front of the space to provide a separate exhibition space from the main space allowing an artist or artists to exhibit their work on a 24/7 basis to each and every member of the passing public.
The Main Space : Consisting of two distinct areas, one side open and spacious with high ceilings, one side separated by mirrored columns with slightly smaller ceilings!
The Changed Room : What was the old changing room from when it was a New Look store, this unique space, which still has the frames from the cubicles and a huge floor to ceiling mirror, is a one of a kind exhibition space perfect for small individual exhibitions and experimental practitioners.
